Bit late this week but Paul here and thought carry on with the last blog I did and today talk about horror games which have been turned into movies. Again not many of these films were good also I will only talk about the first films and not the sequels some may have had after.
A team of space marines known as the Rapid Response Tactical Squad, led by Sarge, is sent to a science facility on Mars after somebody reports a security breach. There, they learn that the alert came after a test subject, a mass murderer purposefully injected with alien DNA, broke free and began killing people. Dr. Grimm, who is related to team member Reaper, informs them all that the chromosome can mutate humans into monsters and is highly infectious. The best part of this film was the first person bit where it paid homage to the game.
Alone in the Dark
When the investigations of supernatural detective Edward Carnby lead him to uncover a long-lost tribe called the Abskani, he finds out that they worshipped demons. These evil creatures are now attempting to resurface in the world, and Edward can stop them only with the help of Aline Cedrac, an archeologist who also happens to be his old flame. With sinister forces attempting to take over Edward’s mind, can he and Aline stop them before it’s too late?. Now I can’t really comment on this film as I have never watched it but it does not look good.
Unable to accept the fact that her daughter is dying, Rose decides to take the girl to a faith healer. On the way, the pair drive through a portal in reality, leading to an eerie town called Silent Hill. The town is surrounded by a potent darkness, and the human survivors fight a losing battle against it. Myself did not mind this film is was weird and creepy, just like the games were.
A commando team must break into “the hive,” a vast underground genetics laboratory operated by the powerful Umbrella Corporation. There, a deadly virus has been unleashed, killing the lab’s personnel and resurrecting them as the evil Un-dead. The team has just three hours to shut down the lab’s supercomputer and close the facility before the virus threatens to overrun the Earth. Now there is not much to say as how many sequels this has generated but there is no way it as good as the games and also the annoying the main character is not even in the game series.
So that’s my list this week, if missed any let us know.
