So recently we had some exciting news of the Nintendo Switch, that being what exciting games we can look forward to and I gotta say, it looks pretty interesting. We have Ultra Street Fighter 2, a new update of possibly the most iconic fighting game ever (i’m not sure if Andy has heard of this, but when he does i’m sure he’ll pop a boner), Sonic Mania, a new 2D Sonic game in the style of the Mega Drive/ Genesis games (made me pop a boner). Splatoon 2, a sequel to the much loved shooter, and Super Mario Odyssey, the new 3D Mario game that looks like, once again, it’ll be a big hit. But what games will you be able to play come March? Lets have a look:
Just Dance 2017
Who cares? Next
Normally i’d brush off this but Crash Bandicoot is in it so maybe i’ll buy the figure?
Super Bomberman R
The classic party series has been brought to the Switch with a new 8-player “Battle” Mode and a (co-op possible) Story mode that goes over 50 levels
This is the party game that you show your friends and family to showcase the console, like Wii Sports or Nintendo Land. If it’s half as good as them then it should be fun
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Ok so this is probably the only game on the list that is a must buy. The hype for this is real, with trailers and game play demos being shown for months (Why does every game have to be open world nowadays by the way?) and judging from what we’ve seen it should be amazing.
Ok so what we see here isn’t that exciting, And i have a feeling that 1-2-switch wont be that fun to play by yourself, so lets have a look at whats due to come out in the weeks following the 3rd of March:
Has-Been Heroes (March)
I Am Setsuna (March)
Snipperclips, Cut it Out Together (March)
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (April 28)
Puyo Puyo Tetris (Spring)
This is a bit more promising, with Mario Kart 8 being the version of (I’d say the best) Mario Kart with all the bells and whistles, and I assume that we’ll get Mario Kart 9 at some point in its life span, I Am Setsuna has already achieved acclaim and Has-Been Heroes looks promising.
So combine the slightly later releases with the blockbusters listed at the beginning and, after a bare bones launch day, i’d say that the Switch has the potential to be the best Nintendo Console since the Gamecube.
Until next time
